Started as an e-business consultant, got involved into politics being an MP for 12 years (2003-2015) and a minister in Dutch gvt for 2 years (2015-2017), became an executive board member responsible for digital strategy at Dutch public broadcaster NPO for 5 years (2017-2022) and was one of the initiators of the Dutch Data Vault Foundation in October 2022, which wants te become a non profit neutral data facilitator for Dutch society and business. Dutch Data Vault Foundation was an initiative of five major media companies in the Netherlands who want to do research and innovation together on a personal data space model and the applicability in viable business cases.
