Gülşen Güler works as a researcher to examine and reimagine the relationship between data, social justice, decision-making, and power. Gülşen is also a trained justice social worker and in her work, she witnessed the real-world harms of power imbalances in digitalization processes. This led her to develop a human-centric approach to data literacy for uncovering bias and building ethical governance. Her work is informed by intersectional feminism, situated learning, and sociotechnical imaginaries. An active member of MyData Global since 2020, Gülşen is one of the leaders that established MyData Literacy Thematic Group in 2021 that focuses on conceptualizing data literacy within the MyData context.
