Miapetra Kumpula-Natri is a member of the European Parliament since 2014, working on digitalization, fair use of data, energy and just transition. She is a member of Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE); Vice-chair of D-US, the delegation for relations with the United States; as well as substitute on delegation for relations with Japan, Committee on International Trade and Committee on Constitutional Affairs. Miapetra is eager to find sustainable solutions to climate change and to the energy sector. She advocates for more investments in research and knowledge, as well as for fair working life through European cooperation. Digitalisation and digital cooperation, human rights and equality at all levels are issues close to her heart.
