Workshop on Data Collectives: Case Geneva Uber Drivers & Ideation Contes

Jukka Vahti, Project Director, Digital Power and Democracy, Sitra

Platform workers generate a tremendous amount of data while working. By recovering this data, they optimize their business, understand the algorithm better, and assert their rights locally. A new kind of data collective helps Uber drivers in Geneva defend their earnings and get equal treatment by pooling their data for analysis. Intro to the case is followed by a related data collectives’ workshop & networking.
